How To Role Play A Wolf
What IS Role play?
Role Play (RPG) is a type of game in which players assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. Gameplay progresses according to a predetermined system of rules and guidelines, within which players may improvise freely. Players' choices shape the direction and outcome of roleplaying games. A roleplaying game rarely has winners or losers. This makes roleplaying games fundamentally different from board games, card games, sports and most other types of games. Like novels or films, roleplaying games appeal because they engage the imagination. Roleplaying games are typically more collaborative and social than competitive. A typical roleplaying game unites its participants into a single team, known as a \\"party\\", that plays as a group.

How To Introduce Your Wolf Into Role Play - New Wolves click here
Once you figure out your character's details and back story it's time to introduce him/her into the channel! There really is only one way to go about it and that's to have your wolf find our territory. Typical posts can look like this:
RandomWolf: After traveling for many hours along a solitary path, he would find himself at the border of two large mountain's that forged a mountain pass. He found the scent of other wolves and after traveling for so long without any sign of a wolf, this intrigued him. He'd been a lone wolf for many years and to stumble upon the scent of others, he would venture to investigate. He would follow after the tracks that led this wolf into another pack's territory.
Introducing your character entering into the territory like this, this allows other wolves in the clearing or in the woods to discover your scent and be able to role play according to where you enter. This is far more desired then simply posting "RandomWolf: walks into the clearing and barks".
After your character starts to interact with other wolves, you'll want to make sure that you are greeted by at least a member of the pack to who can then introduce you to the Alpha(s) and/or Beta(s).

Wolf Physical Behavior
We hope this guide will be helpful to you in demonstrating some of the physical emotions that wolves display.
Ultimate Submission
The wolf above is displaying the full act of submission. Usually lower ranked wolves display this type of behavior towards the alpha like the omega.
Dominance
The usual show of dominance is administered by the Alpha(s) of the pack with tails head high, ears forward and chest out. Here is an example of what happens to a lone wolf who ventured to close into the territory during breeding season. The wolf was exacted punishment by the Alpha pair, but as well a few members of the pack. The wolf luckily got away with its life.
Aggression Over A Meal
Wolves often fight over meals but it is usually the Alpha that reinforces the 'rules' during a kill. The Alpha(s) tend to keep a certain 'pecking' order and if any wolf steps out of line our out of their place, sneaking a meal for example, will surely be put back into their place.
Wolf Fights
Wolves usually get into tussles and fights for various reasons. The most common is during breeding season when the Alpha male asserts himself towards the younger male wolves to keep them from breeding. Female wolves will also help keep the females in line as well but the aggression is more surrounded by the males during the breeding season. Wolves will also fight for the "Alphaship", territorial disputes with other wolves or to chase a lone wolf out of the territory.
Aggression
This is a typical expression by a wolf who is showing aggression. Wolves who feel threatened or who are about to get into a fight will usually display this behavior. This also serves as a warning to any wolf.
Alert
Wolves are always alert. Especially during the breeding season when lone wolves (usually male) wander into the territory. This is an example of wolves being tentative.
Affection
Wolves are very affectionate. They are a pack of individuals who are usually all siblings or some how related, but not always, which seems to outline their affections for one another. Wolves will greet each other with tails waving, happy whines and licks to one another.
Howling
Howling is a strong form of communication within a pack. Wolves will howl to rally, announce their presence to neighboring packs or let other wolves near or around the territory that it is belongs to a pack.
